Continental 1940’s Horn Necklace With Natural Colour Variations – Montreal, Canada

$395.00

Description

Continental jewelry was founded in Montreal in 1943 by Sam Baker and Sol Mayoff. In the 1950’s they focused on, and became known for the production of fashionable rhinestone jewelry. Some historians claim they were competitors with Sherman jewelry, but I would be inclined to disagree. However, they were very successful, and influential, with major departments stores carrying the line.

This Continental horn necklace features large natural beads with variable colours and shading. It measures 21″long. The larger centre bead measures 1.5″ long. It has small gold metal spacer beads between the horn beads. The condition is very good. It has the original foil Continental hang tag.
