Description
This partially hand painted Claude Brachel Limoges box features airy floral scenes on the lid, sides and inside the box. The sprigs of pastel pink and white flowers are slightly raised and placed in a basket with trailing flowers and ribbon. It measures 5.5″ long x 4″ wide X 3″ high to the edge of the lid. The lid is raised, and all parts of the white porcelain contain honeycomb patterns framed into decorative cameos with raised art nouveau patterns. It is marked with Limoges Rehausse Main, Claude Brachel, and Made in France. It is in very good condition. The Rehausse Main marking means it is partially hand painted, and portions of it are carefully applied transfer decals. In this case, the blooms on the flowers are hand painted, and the basket and ribbon is transfer decal.
