This antique bakelite pin is marked Butler & Wilson, however they are not the maker’s of the pin. In the 1960’s in London, Butler & Wilson were avid collectors and resellers of vintage jewelry. They were especially known for collecting vintage Bakelite. They marked their names on the backs, which is not I would have done, but it does demonstrate that it has it’s origins in Europe, and passed through the London marketplace. This gorgeous pin features a 1920’s art deco inspired couple, as the woman has bobbed hair, and a low cut back on her dress. Her earrings are long and also notable deco style. The man is wearing a round silver ring, and the woman is wearing a simple chain around her neck. It is the nicest bakelite piece I have ever come across. It measures 2.75″ x 2.2″ and is in excellent condition. It has a functional antique bar and pin clasp.
